Herts Interpreting and Translation Service
Herts Interpreting and Translation Service (HITS) is a major provider of interpreting and translation services to local authorities and the NHS in the Home counties and East of England. Due to increased workload, HITS wish to recruit a highly-motivated and skilled individual to become a member of its booking team at its offices in Hemel Hempstead.
The successful candidate will be required to process interpreting and translation requests received from customers via telephone and email – to allocate interpreters and translators as requested by customers – and to undertake all the administrative tasks required to arrange the booking of an appropriate interpreter or translator.
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Salary: £23,449 per annum starting salary
Hours: 37 hours per week including some weekends
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
The successful candidate will be able to evidence the following:
- Excellent IT Skills (including experience of working with databases and email systems)
- Excellent customer service skills and telephone manner
- Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Good problem solving and organisational skills and ability to work on their own initiative
- Ability to prioritise and manage several tasks simultaneously and to maintain their composure in the face of emergency requests within a highly- pressurised office environment
- Understanding of the principles of confidentiality and Information Security
- Excellent knowledge of public services
- Commitment to valuing diversity
